Competency Assessment :

After gaining significant experience in competency assurance management projects and recognizing the diversity in employee profiles based on educational background, behaviors, expertise, job nature, and grades, Petro Circle has developed two distinct Competency Assessment Methods to cater to all job types and levels. These methods are designed to ensure that employees meet the competency standards specific to their roles.

1. University Graduates/Fresh O&T Graduates:

For recent university graduates or fresh O&T graduates, Petro Circle has developed the University Graduate Development Framework (DFW). This framework outlines the competency standards necessary for these individuals to perform their job roles effectively and safely. The framework is divided into three main Assessment Chapters, each with its specific focus:

  • Core Competencies: These are fundamental competencies required for the graduate to perform their role in a reliable and proficient manner.
  • Supporting Competencies: These competencies complement the core skills and enable the employee to handle additional responsibilities effectively.
  • General and Behavioral Competencies: This chapter evaluates attributes related to attitude, work ethics, teamwork, and communication skills, which are essential for personal and professional growth.

Each of these competency units is assessed based on four proficiency levels, allowing for a structured and clear evaluation of the graduate’s skills, from basic to advanced proficiency. This structured framework helps identify the development needs and provides a roadmap for growth in the organization.

By recognizing the varying levels of competencies in employees, Petro Circle comprehensive approach ensures that fresh graduates, as well as seasoned professionals, receive the targeted support and development needed to excel in their respective roles.

University Graduate Assessment

The assessment layer focuses on evaluating the evidence provided by candidates, reflecting real tasks from their routine work, ensuring the competencies assessed are tied directly to actual job responsibilities. Petro Circle CompetencySet offers a multi-layered online assessment approach, including: Self-Assessment, where individuals evaluate their own competencies; Assessor Assessment, conducted by an expert comparing performance with predefined standards; Verifiers Assessment, ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of the evidence; and Line Manager Assessment, where the manager provides feedback on the candidate’s performance within the organization’s context. This comprehensive process ensures accurate, holistic evaluations that support both individual and organizational development.

2- Front-Line Operations and Maintenance Technicians

The Competency Development Frameworks (DFWs) for Front-line Operations and Maintenance Technicians, Operators/Technicians (O&Ts), Senior Operators/Technicians, and Supervisors are specifically designed to align with the hands-on, practical nature of their work. The assessment of these front-line personnel is focused on observing them as they perform their day-to-day tasks. It covers several key areas, including their knowledge of on-site equipment, skills in using and maintaining that equipment, and their understanding and application of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) procedures. Additionally, their soft skills, such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, are evaluated to ensure a well-rounded approach to their duties. This thorough assessment helps ensure that employees are not only technically proficient but also capable of contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.

E-Learning

To meet the diverse training needs of our clients, Petro Circle has formed strategic partnerships with several international eLearning vendors. By doing so, we’ve successfully aligned the key competency elements from our Competency Development Frameworks (DFWs) with relevant eLearning courses. This ensures that our clients have access to a wide range of training resources that are tailored to enhance the specific skills and knowledge required for each role, ultimately supporting their professional growth and competency development.
